unless you alter some parts of it

Inspired by his words, I wrote a verse in Farsi on the subject.

As far as I remember, Imam Khomeini among the recent qualified Shiite theologians and religious scholars had a very unique and exceptional personality.

He was not only proficient in all Islamic science and teachings, but a gifted poet who had composed very delicate lyrics and mystical sonnets.

When I was editing his very famous, ethical and mystical book, titled Forty Hadiths (the Greatest Jihad) he had mentioned statements on the limited understanding and vision of people who could not look beyond the values of material world.

Inspired by his words, I wrote a verse in Farsi on the subject mentioned in the footnotes.

However, before the book could be published, I discovered that the Imam had read the poem and remarked some notes on it:

“Bringing such a verse in this manner is not right in terms of style of poetry, unless you alter some parts of it.”

However, he rewrote the verse in a correct poetic style.
