An international summit on "Imam Khomeini and Islamic Ummah" has been held in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The summit was attended by senior officials, Sunni and Shia Muslim clerics, academics, intellectuals and scholars from across Iran and other parts of the world.
Several internationally figures delivered speeches and lectures highlighting the necessity of creating unity among the world divine religions and all Islamic sects.
The scholars stressed that Imam's ideals, thought, practical conduct and works show he had been opposed to all divide and sectarian strife among Muslims.
Hundreds of foreign guests, who are in the Iranian capital to attend the 27the passing away anniversary of Imam Khomeini, also actively participated at the gathering.
The summit ended with closing remarks by Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
