Zahra Mostafavi, the secretary general of the NGO Union for Supporting the Palestinian Rights, pointed out during a recent summit that half of the Palestinians are displaced while the other half are being oppressed by Zionists in their homeland.
The daughter of the late founder of the Islamic Republic also voiced concern over the fact that Palestine must be the most important issue for the Muslim world but it is not.
Elsewhere in her remarks, she appealed all Muslim countries to support the Palestinian nation. “It is now the right time for all Muslim countries to stand up in support of Palestinian people.”
The summit was held to mark Nakba Day, which marks the 1948 mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homes.
In a separate development on Monday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry in statement welcomed the growing wave of international opposition to the Israeli regime’s continued illegal settlement construction across the occupied Palestinian territories.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran… sees the intensification of global opposition to this (Israeli) regime’s illegal and inhuman actions including settler outpost construction as a good omen and calls for international action for putting an end to the conspiracies” of the Tel Aviv regime against Palestinians, the statement read.
The statement denounced attempts by the Tel Aviv regime to Judaize the Holy al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the Israeli regime’s desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque.
It also cites the persistence of its decade-long blockade of Gaza Strip as “crimes” committed by Israel against the backdrop of the Tel Aviv regime’s exploitation of ongoing crises in the Mideast region.
The statement also reaffirms Iran’s support for solidarity” and “national reconciliation” of Palestinians in countering Israel. It expresses hope that Muslim nations would throw their weight behind efforts embarked on by Palestinian resistance groups.
It is noteworthy that the Islamic Revolution’s victory under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979 strengthened the Palestinian cause and defended the rights of the Palestinian nation.
Imam through his historic speeches and messages frequently used to denounce the crimes being committed by the Israeli regime against the oppressed Palestinian people.
