The German philosopher and scientist and Islamic scholar, named Imam Khomeini as the revivalist of Islam in an era the world was deep in western thoughts and said: “Imam Khomeini wasn’t only a great Faqih but he was a great and unique mystic.”
Roland Pietsch, professor of the Munich University of Germany, who was among the guests of the Islamic Awakening conference held in Berlin, in a speech about the personality of the late Imam Khomeini as the founder of the Islamic system, said: “Speaking about the thoughts and personality dimensions of this great man without an accurate study on his works is impossible.”
This European scholar of Islam, stated: “If someone, without study and research, writes or talks about this notable mystic, the result would be what we are viewing through the US and European media, a big mistake about his personality.”
Roland Pietsch stressed: “Imam Khomeini’s major will in the Islamic revolution, was innovating and reviving Islam and in his speech in 1971 he stressed on this issue that the Islamic government, religion and politics are not separated from each other.”
He continued: From Imam Khomeini’s view the base of life is Islamic Sharia and religion is the guide of people in everything so people are responsible in front of the Islamic laws and they should obey it.”
At the end he mentioned the importance and necessity of the Islamic government’s role and the Vilayat-e Faqih (Providence of the Jurist), and said: “We should look at Islam from two points of view, one is an outer look which is about divine laws and the other is an inner look which is religious mystics.”
